Social Skill Groups

Social Skill Groups is a program designed to empower children with essential social skills that will benefit them throughout their lives. This program offers a supportive and engaging environment where children can learn, practice, and master a variety of skills that are crucial for success and well-being in adulthood.

Our Approach

Our Social Skill Groups instructors understand that every child is unique. That’s why we tailor our program to meet the individual needs and learning styles of each child. Whether your child is shy and reserved or outgoing and energetic, our program is designed to help them thrive.

Comprehensive Social Skill Curriculum

We use a curriculum called Overcoming Obstacles that is accepted by the Colorado Board of Education. In these classes we focus on skills such as peer pressure, empathy, active listening skills, conflict resolution, and others. The goal is to tailor the class to the children we are working with at the time.

Peer Interaction and Friendship Building

Opportunities for positive peer interactions are provided, encouraging participants to build and maintain friendships. We make sure that the environment is a safe space for any individual. Community is something that we pride ourselves on and continuously try to provide to every person that walks through our doors. We provide social outings and group activities to foster a sense of community and belonging.

Emotional Regulation and Communication Skills

Participants practice verbal and non-verbal communication skills through guided exercises and peer interactions. We focus on listening, turn-taking, and understanding social cues in a supportive setting. The program includes techniques for recognizing and managing emotions, helping learners navigate social situations with confidence. Mindfulness activities and relaxation techniques are also integrated to support emotional well-being.

Why Join a Social Skill Group:

  • Small Group Settings: We keep our groups small to ensure that each child receives personalized attention and support.
  • Experiential Learning: We believe in learning by doing. Our sessions are interactive and hands-on, allowing children to apply their skills in real-life scenarios.
  • Structured and Consistent Sessions: Each session follows a predictable routine, providing stability and reducing anxiety. Our clear agendas and visual schedules help participants know what to expect and when.
